Madagascar's wildlife :

Often called the "eighth continent," Madagascar is a world leader in biodiversity, housing 5% of all known plant and animal species on just 0.4% of the Earth's landmass. Due to its 88 million years of isolation, approximately 90% of its wildlife is endemic:

  • Lemurs: over 100 species of these unique primates, ranging from the tiny Mouse Lemur to the "singing" Indri.
  • Unique Flora: home to six of the world's eight baobab species and over 1,000 types of orchids.
  • Vibrant Reptiles: Roughly half of the world's chameleon species reside here, including the world's smallest reptile.
  • The Fossa: The island's top predator, an elusive carnivore that looks like a cross between a cat and a mongoose.
  • Birds: Madagascar’s birdlife is as spectacular and unique as its lemurs, making it a bucket-list destination for birders.

Testimonials

"At the beginning, we were a bit hesitant to book a trip to Madagascar because of the logistics, but Herizo, from Gasy Lenz made everything very smooth. From the moment we landed in Tana, we felt completely looked after. And our driver was a true professional, navigating the bumpy roads with ease, and our local guides had an incredible eye for spotting animals we would have totally missed. It was the perfect balance of adventure and comfort. We couldn't have asked for a better organized tour! Misaotra betsaka”

Thomas & Maddie H., USA, September 2024

"If you love unique wildlife, stop searching and book now. Seeing the Indri-Indri lemurs in Andasibe, admiring the fosa at Kirindy and watching the sunset at the Avenue of the Baobabs were moments I’ll never forget. Gasy Lenz team clearly has deep local roots; they took us to hidden spots away from the big crowds and introduced us to local communities that made the trip feel so authentic. Madagascar is a magical place, and this team knows exactly how to show it to you. Definitely, I will come back again. Thank you friends!”

The attention to detail from the Gasy Lenz team was world-class. They even surprised us with a private dinner under the stars! Thank you for making our special trip so exceptional and beautiful. We will be recommending you to all our friends."
